use a white bedsheet
Bed sheets are too expensive.
Go into a store that sells yardage and look on the $1 or $2 table for white cloth. Buy 4 yards and that should do it.
If you really need something wider, you can buy bleached muslin at about $7 a yard, still less expensive than a white top sheet
Use an old bedsheet. You can pick one up at a thrift store for almost nothing. Or old curtains. You could also buy canvas or other yard goods by the yard at a fabric store. But white is not flattering to most people. It is too much of a contrast. A soft beige would be more flattering.
If you want white your best bet is probably Savage Paper (that’s the brand name) they make two widths as I recall, 107 inch and something just over 60 inches. I believe that they are ten yards or so long, so you can sweep them under your subject. I used the white a lot for high key photography when I had my studio,
John answered correctly. You can buy white seamless paper from Savage in 60″ and 107″ wide lengths. These look better than a cheap bed sheet, but run around $40. But if your really in a pinch, you can use a bed sheet. If your wanting to totally “blow out” the backdrop (meaning pure white), spring for the muslin. It will last longer than paper and isn’t as thin as the bed sheet. I bought mine at a Hobby Lobby (craft store that does yardage) on sale for $2/yard.
The next thing you’ll want is two very powerful strobes to “blow out” that backdrop and get that “oh-so-sweet-white” background.
